Wireless Router Range explained for you
The wireless router range differs in and may be based in the lay of the surrounding area. It is actually dependent on WAP or the wireless access point or the router. Now the wireless router’s range is basically ascertained by the following:

2. The power and strength of the transmitter
3. And the protocol used
Ideally, WAPs can reach at a maximum range of up to 46 meters or 150 feet indoors and 92 meters or 300 feet outdoors. This is based on a normal environment with regular obstructions like buildings and trees. To extend this range, you can set up Wi-Fi points and create chains of connections, which is what other transmitting firms do.
At home, in order to increase you router’s range, you can employ these simple variations. To begin with, if you still can, position the router in the center of the house. If it is already installed and cannot be moved, let us try another procedure. Remove metal obstructions in the immediate area of the router. As a general rule, the antenna provided by the router manufacturer is an omni-directional type of antenna which means it sends out internet signal to all directions. This translates to a lot of bandwidth wastage since the ones banging on the wall is not recycled at all. What you can do is change this with what is known as a high gain antenna and this type of antenna is set to transmit only in one direction.
This allows you to point the antenna’s focus on your desired place in the house. At the same time, you can add wireless repeaters that do not require wires. To reduce interference, avoid using wireless electronics that utilize the 2.4GHz frequency. Use those with 5.8GHz or 900MHz frequencies. There are times that you need to update the firmware of your router, especially if it is not the latest brand and model. All you have to is look for the website of the manufacturer of the router and download the latest updates. That may boost your router transmission capabilities.
