I have a Linksys WRT54G wireless router and my computer has stopped randomly pick ….?
I had a problem with it the other day, you are asked a password and did not know it, ja, so I had to reset it and all it took awhile, but I have to work again. Tonight stopped randomly pick the router, I tried to search for software for it, but says it is obsolete or isn't a product from Linksys. So I re-install and software and restart the router (again) and say the same. I just bought this router a month ago its new, this is the software that comes with it. The only thing I did was push the configuration screen "easy" button on the morning of the day before yesterday, but was working very well so far, so I do not know if that had something to do with it. Can someone who has had this problem tell me how to get to pick up my new router?
Hello, Linksys routers has a set of trade name and password. The user is admin and the password is admin. You access the router through web browser (IE7 mostly) by typing http://192.168.1.1 in the address line. Then, the menu will appear. Here's a hint in the back of the router is a reset button works, just press gently into the hole with a open clip. Also, after putting in a CAT5 cable to the LAN input, usually there are 4 connection points for computers CAT5, NO slot nearest (# 1) to the LAN connector, because the Linksys site says other functions are carried out there and could mess with your connection. Just use # 2 to 4 normal. Linksys site has a page of support and many FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) that can definitely help out. Sarge
