How to set up a small home network
In the past, most people had only one computer at home and nothing more. Internet access is based on dial-up modems that were connected directly with a serial cable in the home team. No local area network was needed. The rapid progression of technology adopting modern broadband Internet access in homes, requires that appliances should be networked to facilitate online access and also to communicate and share information among themselves.
When I say I mean the appliances computers, game consoles, printers, storage, etc. All these devices must communicate with each other over a LAN, but also need high speed access to the Internet. To achieve this, you need to configure a home network. With a home-based network that are technically building a local area network, which can be wired or wireless network devices communicating between the interior of the house, and also share the same Internet connection.
The heart of a home network is a broadband router. This is the most time an integrated wired or wireless device that lets you create and configure a home network. The router shares the Internet connection with their devices.
Once you have setup your home network, you can connect your computers, laptops, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, servers, network storage boxes, etc. After all devices successfully connect to the router, you can share and distribute their files via the network, LAN parties have gaming consoles, play video games online, and share photos from your computer.
