I need help installing my Linksys Wireless Router.?

Can you give me step by step instructions on how to configure my Linksys Wireless-G broadband router Broadband (model WRT54G) with my DSL from AT & T. I have Windows Vista. I've tried everything! I can not get my Internet connection to work with my router. Everything is connected correctly. Got to a single step in my installation disk in it says internet connection test. But they say there is no connection available ?!?!?! So how can I share my internet to my wireless router? Oh please give me really detailed answer. Tell me what to do. PLEASE HELP!

You must use a direct cable network between your DSL modem and Linksys router. It plugs into the connector on the left toward the back of the router. Is DSL service if you say has a dedicated IP address or dynamic? If a dedicated IP address, you'll have to get into the router. The router defaults to a setting of dynamic IP address. To access the router, launch Internet Explorer and type the IP address 192.168.1.1 and see if you get the website of the router. If so, you have access to the router settings manually. If you are using a dynamic IP address, make sure the router is configured for DHCP. No have told us that if you are trying to access the wireless router via a cable or wireless adapter. If you are using a wireless adapter, make sure it is configured for DHCP or automatic IP address too. To test the PC, you can temporarily use a network cable between it and one of the ports on the router to see if it appears. If it does, you know you have connectivity and wireless is a problem. If not, can have a connectivity problem or an IP address conflict. If that does not take you online, try going to http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?childpagename=US/Layout&packedargs=c=L_Content_C1&cid=1114037290855&pagename=Linksys/Common/VisitorWrapper site. There are a number of procedures for self help and support are not very good.
