What wireless router should I buy for my laptop?

I have a PC with broadband Talk Talk, and wonder at the speed of the router example to 300Mbps, 54, have a substantial effect? I'm thinking of the Linksys WAG325N-UK Draft N ADSL Modem Router. Is it good?

Review some fundamendal data. A very rapid speed cable Internet can be up to 10 Mbps and 2 Mbps often, Internet speeds will be below these values. A router with common cable run to 100 Mbps on the LAN or 10 x faster than the speed of the Internet. common wireless (802.11g) will run on a maximum of 54 Mbps (although far from the router and interference can lead to a real rate under 15 Mbps). Regardless, the speed of LAN is faster than Internet speed. 802.11 N is a proposed standard and not yet accepted by the Standards Committee. Even if you get the advertised 300 Mbps (which is doubtful), Internet speed is still below substantailly. Having said all this, if your network has a substantal traffic inside the LAN, LAN faster speed is that want. If the network has very little traffic on the LAN, and this is the case with most LANS homes, extra internet speed does nothing to improve Internet speed. You have not defined the number of Internet computers that have internal LAN network or the amount of (PC to PC on the LAN) traffic is. Most companies with important Internet traffic run acceptably with a wire speed of 100 Mbps and 54 Mbps wireless access (max.) high speed. I doubt there is anywhere near the level of traffic on the LAN they do. Therefore, if you wish to purchase an 802.11 N compatible device can understand that the rule change before it is finalized. The change standard can make your product unacceptable (although it is most likely only require a firmware update). Your computer must also have a wireless NIC 802.11 N compatible with the standard and because it is not finished must be compatible with the router so it must be carefully reviewed before purchase. Regardless if you purchase an 802.11 g (54 Mbps) or 802.11 N his slow device will be its speed Internet and the router can not do anything to speed up internet speed. There are several manufacturers of routers. Check revisions prior to purchase. I move away from the newly established units, since they often have bugs in them, which is an installation problem.
