Help with wireless network?

"Network Connections" shows I have 3 connections .. Local Area Connection (which says "Connectivity Limited or no "and I think is the connection for my xbox 360?) .. Wireless Network Connection (which says it is connected and USB network card Netgear dealio I connected and installed) and the connection 1394 (I have no idea what this connection is, but says it is connected) With all that said .. My desktop, running XP, not online though it says connected .. My goal: Get online desktop and use that wireless connection to get online from Xbox. Can anyone help? If it helps any, I have a linksys router and the network is password protected. I know I'm typing my password is incorrect, because it's my phone number and how could I forget my own phone number? and why we should say that I'm connected if the password is incorrect? I do not know much about networking, and trying to avoid calling any customer service.

The 1394 is a FireWire port, a kind of USB fat. Can you navigate to the router from your XP machine? What is the IP address configured on the XP machine? DHCP router? Let me some more details and I'll help: P
