can anyone help me to configure my wireless router to share an internet connection?
i have a wireless usb broadband modem which i use on my desktop i also have a linksys wireless router. what i want to find out is how to configure the desktop to share the connection so i can then connect to the internet with my laptop. i know it can be done because i had used to plug the router in the laptop while connected to the internet with the wireless modem and shared the connection with my friend whenever he brought his laptop over. all this was done on vista tho and i unno how to do it with xp.
First unplug the broadband modem from the pc and plug it in the highlighted router plug. Then run another ethernet cable from the router to your pc…. This should now be connected to the internet.
Go to your laptop and search for a wireless network. You should then be able to connect to it. If you have WEP set up it will ask for a password . You can go to linksys and get help setting up the wep protection. This stops anyone from connecting to your network.
