Connecting Comcast cable / modem to linksys router?
My roommate switched from Yahoo Internet services to Comcast and Comcast installed a cable modem, how can I connect to my router linkysy? we have tried to plug it in, as was the case with Yahoo, but not working, said my wireless is connected but no internet connection, need help
Unplug the modem you just installed alongwith your router. Leave them unplugged for a minute or two. While you are wating, make sure that ethernent plug the modem is plugged into the right place at the router. When you make sure that all is well, plug it in again and let the ignition. Make sure your modem is turned on, sometimes standby Goto, want to see the green lights at least a constant flicker. Now look at your router. You must have a wireless signal and a flashing light that shows a connection to the Internet. Your wireless router can find a connection from your computer to the router, but can not connect through your modem to the Internet. resetting your modem and router must be capable of connecting cable drive to your Internet, you can re-adjust the settings of your wireless network even though only the modem is new.
