I need a very good wireless router, I had the Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router 2.4 GHz ……………?

It is said to 54Mbps and had a card that was also a booster, but my neighbor lives across the street and not only its good working order, so I got rid of him, Thaty anyone know about wireless routers that can help me, we both have Windows XP SP2 and I have cable internet with a cable modem (duh). What is the better as the wireless router and the card to get? BTW, there was an antenna of the card also.

First of all: The Linksys router is a big one. If the wireless receiver on your laptop / PC is a slower rate that the router slows down too. Is your network properly encrypted and not being treated sending the signal through several walls, or even one with a lot of metal? If you are sure to test the laptop / PC when you have a clear path the router. You may need professional help in person, if my advice does not help.
