my laptop cannot access the Internet through the browser, though it says I'm connected. Why?
The facts are: 1. My laptop runs Windows Vista 2. It is connected to a wireless router, a Linksys One 3. It says I'm connected to the Internet, because I'm still capable of download updates 4. Internet Explorer or Mozilla to say can not display page 5, even when the ste oi URL is correct. My laptop family member can connect to the Internet and browser. 6. says something about proxy servers, but do not know what it is. Please help …. Sorry for being a novice with these things.
uumm, whether it is a proxy, you can check by going … Control Panel, then Internet Options, then the tab at the top that says connections, select LAN Settings and make sure the box next to "Use a proxy server for your LAN" is not checked … if not his, then Im not sure. I hope that helped some, good luck
