Do I need a static IP address for the Access Point??

I am having connectivity problems. Currently modem with the Linksys (Wired) SMC Switch. Everything works fine with this configuration there is no connectivity problem but here's the problem I am trying to configure Wireless Access Point (Pre Belkin Wireless G Router with an option to use Access Point) let Wireless Router Linksys Static IP, but not assign the Linksys router. When I connect the Belkin Wireless Router all works, but after a few weeks becomes a problem with Internet connectivity NO. Can the problem? Belkin – access point settings for static IP address and subnet mask address. The default subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 address change with the new static IP address? I put the Linksys router side or behind the switch? What would be required? Does access point needs a static IP (for network troubleshooting and configuration security)? Please reply with correct answers or you cannot answer the question, please provide web site to find a solution to the problem of

Well, if it were me, I would move the Belkin Pre N router to the location that has the Linksys and Netgear to replace him. Use the Belkin as the main router, many aspects of it is gone!. However, if you want to use the Belkin as an access point just make sure you connect directly to Linksys and not the switch. (All connections can create extra problems to remove everything you can.) Yes I like to set a static IP on the Belkin, just set it to DHCP then start chanage meeting him and the IP (only IP subnet, gateway and DNS is the same) to an address Wihtin static IP configuration of the system. In other words, if you pull a DHCP server in the Linksys, for example in the use 192.168.1.100 Subnet 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.50 for the static configuration – which must be outside the DHCP pool range from Linksys.) (Make sure you disable DHCP on the Belkin or you will have all sorts of issues!) The static configuration is easier to find on the net if you need to change settings, etc. are not too surprised PS you must restore the system from time to when – are running two routers and sometimes mean restarting the whole system to speak again. Every two to three weeks – you're lucky.
