How do I install my Linksys wireless router?

We just got a wireless router from a friend (used) do not have the manual or CD installation. So how would I go about it? We have Comcast High Speed Internet router we have is: Wireless-G Broadband Router 2.4 GHz Linksys Model: WRT54G v2.2 any help is appreciated! Thanks!

Connect the Ethernet cable from the cable modem into the WAN port of Linksys. Since this is used a router, you may want to reset (hold the botton of rest until all the lights start flashing the light of his boot up) Once you reset the use of the cable to configure the wireless network (plug an ethernet cable from your PC to one of the 4 LAN ports on the linksys router Once done open the type of web browser 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. This takes you to a page of router configuration Here you have to configure the settings for WAN routers obtain an IP address automatically (which I think is the deafult value and not have to be changed) After establishing the Linksys should be getting an address Comcast IP. Now the phone is a little harder Do you want to create some sort of WEP or WPA encryption, and also rename the SSID (Linksys for your name and surname or name of the network, something unique) Do this by clicking the button under wireless LAN will have basic wireless and wireless security Wireless configure the SSID in Basic Wireless security where you need to first enable security, then select WEP or WPA, then just match the settings on the laptop do this by going in the control group (make sure your in classic view) and go into network connections once here Right click on the wireless connection and go to properties. Click the Settings tab and a half to add wireless connection to the configuration that was used before. (you may want to print this off: P Good luck, vote as best answer
