by admin on September 25, 2011

This tutorial will show you how to configure the router’s Logging feature. This includes configuring the router to send logging messages to a Syslog server, and send alerts emails whenever a DoS (Denial of Service) attack occurs. This article is designed for CCNA students, network engineers, and anyone looking to setup the Linksys wireless router’s logging feature.

The Linksys router allows you to track web traffic generated by your network users. In addition, the Linksys router can detect DoS (Denial of Service) attacks in the direction of your internal computers. You can configure the Linksys router to monitor traffic between your network and the Internet and send you alerts to your email address whenever a DoS attack occurs.

Read the following instructions in order to configure the logging feature:

Step 1: Open your favorite web browser application, and enter the IP address 192.168.1.1 in the address field. Then press Enter.

google_ad_channel = “7940249670, ” + AB_cat_channel + AB_unit_channel;
google_language = “en”;
google_ad_region = ‘test’;
