Need help with wireless internet?

I'm so confused by Internet and wireless routers and stuff. At home I have a PC that is connected to the Internet via ADSL (Optimum Triple Play, to be precise, cable, telephone, internet). A cable runs from the computer to the modem. The modem works to the wall. I just bought a laptop and want to go Wirelss. But I'm not sure how to do this. Do I have to buy another Internet service? Or I buy a router? I was looking at a Linksys Wireless-G Router WRT54G2. He says the high speed action with several computers connected to Internet freedom to go online at any place in the home Easy to configure and use powerful, easy to configure security. But will it work if you have wireless internet? I'm so confused please help!
