Using a router in my line of Internet companies?

Where I work, there is wireless LAN and Internet. In my office i can not pick the wireless signal, but I have an Internet line. I used my old Linksys WRT54G now have wireless, but my office computer can not connect with the server? The desktop does not have a wireless card and connected to the router using an Ethernet cable. My company needs a username and password and use the Novell software for that. What can I do to prevent my router to block access to Internet from my desktop? I disabled the routers firewall.

This is very risky. You can compromise your company's LAN and allow hackers into as well. Most companies have strict rules against rogue devices are installed – and often you add hardware specifically spell out his own network. Moreover, many companies that act in itself is cause for discharge, in most companies, at least, to take their access to IT systems that prevents you from doing your job efficiently and this will ultimately lead to approval management. Remove unauthorized hardware immediately and remove the building. After your computer has been installed incorrectly is gone for a few days, ask your IT people to help get what you need. Working with, not against other departments in your company.
